Gravit-able - Table/Seating Concept
Top 30 Finalist Table It! Collab Student Design Competition Philadelphia Museum of Art, Philadelphia, PA Fall 2013. My inspiration came from rocking chairs and how gravity and weight play an important role in the functioning of the chair. Hidden weights force the Gravit-able into two distinct chairs. Placing an object on the Gravit-able will counteract the weights and prevent it from rocking backwards. The Gravit-able is unconventional because unless there is an object that needs to be placed on its surface, it will remain as two chairs. It cannot function as a table unless it is needed as a table. Gravit-able provides a unique environment with multiple possibilities.
